My Grandfather

At 6:30 Wheel of Fortune
At 7:00 Ice Cream
For you and the dog
Just a little was OK
You use to say –
By 8:00 it was lights out
Everyone
Sleepy or Not
Morning comes early
For the farmer.
You taught me
How to check the oil
And buy a battery,
You tuned my car
And it sounded like
An airplane in flight
My, My, My, you said
And started over
There done
Better
Sorry Hun –
These new age things
Just get me un-done.
I’m gone mama
Put on some peas
Cornbread please
In the afternoon
You’d sold all the coons
Cornbread and milk for supper
Then once again
On your knees
In prayer
Giving thanks
For just another
Days breath of air!!!

Looking at you
I see pieces of me
Strong of will
Self reliant
Beautiful and Caring
Determined to survive
Able to Achieve
All the Dreams
Of your Heart

I look at you
Seeking to be
The Accomplished young woman
You are so fast becoming
And I am proud
To call you my
DAUGHTER!!!
Stay true to who you are.

Life's Tug Of War

Life can seem ungrateful ~ and not always kind.
Life can pull at your heartstrings ~ and play with your mind.
Life can be blissful ~ and happy and free.
Life can put beauty ~ in the things that you see.
Life can place challenges ! right at your feet.
Life can make good ~ of the hardships that we meet.
Life can overwhelm you ~ and make your head spin.
Life can reward those ~ determined to win.
Life can be hurtful ~ and not always fair.
Life can surround you ~ with people who care.
Life clearly does offer ~ its ups and its downs.
Life's days can bring you ~ both smiles and frowns.
Life teaches us to take ~ the good with the bad.
Life is a mixture ~ of happy and sad.
So...
Take the life that you have ~ and give it your best.
Think positive, be happy ~ let God do the rest.
Take the challenges ~ that life has laid at your feet.
Take pride and be thankful ~ for each one you meet.
To yourself give forgiveness ~ if you stumble and fall.
Take each day that is dealt you ~ and give it your all.
Take the love that you're given ~ and return it with care.
Have faith that when needed ~ it will always be there.
Take time to find the beauty ~ in the things that you see.
Take life's simple pleasures ~ let them set your heart free.
The idea her is simply ~ to even the score
As you are met and faced with ~ Life's Tug Of War.

There are only two ways to live your life;
One is as though nothing is a miracle.
The other is as though everything is.

Timeless Wisdom

I've learned . . . .

that the best classroom in the world

is at the feet of an elderly person.

I've learned . . . .

that when you're in love, it shows.

I've learned . . . .

that just one person saying to me,

"You've made my day!" makes my day.

I've learned . . . .

that I feel better about myself when

I make others feel better about themselves.

I've learned . . . .

that having a child fall asleep in your

arms is one of the most peaceful

feelings in the world.

I've learned . . . .

that what we have done for ourselves

alone dies with us. What we have done

for others and the world remains and

is immortal.

I've learned . . . .

that one sincere apology is worth more

than all the roses money can buy.

I've learned . . . .

that words harshly spoken are as difficult

to retrieve as feathers in a gale.

I've learned . . . .

that being kind is more important than

being right.

I've learned . . . .

that you should never say no to a

gift from a child.

I've learned . . . .

that I can always pray for someone when

I don't have the strength to help him

in some other way.

I've learned . . . .

that no matter how serious your life

requires you to be, everyone needs a

friend to act goofy with.

I've learned . . . .

that sometimes all a person needs is a

hand to hold and a heart to understand.

I've learned . . . .

that simple walks with my father around

the block on summer nights when I was

a child did wonders for me as an adult.

I've learned . . . .

that life is like a roll of toilet paper.

The closer it gets to the end, the

faster it goes.

I've learned . . . .

that money doesn't buy class.

I've learned . . . .

that it's those small daily happenings

that make life so spectacular.

I've learned . . . .

that once a relationship is over,

if you experienced more smiles than

tears, then it wasn't a waste of time.

I've learned . . . .

that under every one's hard shell is

someone who wants to be appreciated

and loved.

I've learned . . . .

never to humiliate another person.

Always give him an honorable way to

back down or out of something and

still save face.

I've learned . . . .

that the Lord didn't do it all in one

day. What makes me think I can?

I've learned . . . .

that if you are still talking about

what you did yesterday, you haven't

done much today.

I've learned . . . .

that to ignore the facts does not

change the facts.

I've learned . . . .

that when you plan to get even with

someone, you are only letting that

person continue to hurt you.

I've learned . . . .

that you view other people's children

in a whole different light when you

have some of your own.

I've learned . . . .

that the older I get, the smarter my

parents become.

I've learned . . . .

that when your wife simply answers,

"nothing" when you ask her what's

wrong, you're in deep trouble.

I've learned . . . .

that love, not time, heals all wounds.

I've learned . . . .

that the easiest way for me to grow as

a person is to surround myself with

people smarter than I am.

I've learned . . . .

that I always think of the right thing

to say when it's too late.

I've learned . . . .

that the fire of a past love will always

burn with a small flame.

I've learned . . . .

that even at the age of forty-nine,

you can still feel like a twelve

year old child when your mother is

talking to you.

I've learned . . . .

that no matter what their ages or how

far away they may be, you never stop

wanting to keep a protective arm

around your children.

I've learned . . . .

to gather all the crumbs thrown my way.

They soon form a lovely, thick slice

of life and memories.

I've learned . . . .

that when you want a garment to shrink,

it won't, and when you don't, it will

come out of the dryer and fit your cat!

I've learned . . . .

that commercials for feminine products

always comes on when you are sitting

in the living room with all men.

I've learned . . . .

that the kind of adults my children

are now is directly related to the kind

of children I continually told them

they were.

I've learned . . . .

that everyone you meet deserves to

be greeted with a smile.

I've learned . . . .

that there's nothing sweeter than sleeping

with your babies and feeling their

breath on your cheeks.

I've learned . . . .

that men would rather be lost for hours

than stop and ask for directions.

I've learned . . . .

that no one is perfect until you fall

in love with them.

I've learned . . . .

that life is tough, but I'm tougher.

I've learned . . . .

that opportunities are never lost;

someone will take the ones you miss.

I've learned . . . .

that there is nothing better than my

dog waiting for me on the front porch,

wagging his tail when I get home.

I've learned . . . .

that when you harbor bitterness,

happiness will dock elsewhere.

I've learned . . . .

that I wish I could have told my mom

that I love her one more time before

she passed away.

I've learned . . . .

that it is just as wrong to be rude to a

child as to an adult. In fact, it may

be more unforgivable.

I've learned . . . .

that you should never jump off a diving

board when wearing a bikini.

I've learned . . . .

that one should keep his words both

soft and tender, because tomorrow

he may have to eat them.

I've learned . . . .

that a smile is an inexpensive way to

improve your looks.

I've learned . . . .

that I can't choose how I feel, but I

can choose what I do about it.

I've learned . . . .

that a peacock today may be a feather

duster tomorrow.

I've learned . . . .

that nobody wants to know what you're

doing until you're doing something that

you don't want anyone to know.

I've learned . . . .

that when your newly born grandchild

holds your little finger in his little

fist, that you're hooked for life.

I've learned . . . .

that those who reach their goals too

easily have aimed too low.

I've learned . . . .

that everyone wants to live on top of

the mountain, but all the happiness

and growth occurs while you're climbing it.

I've learned . . . .

that when packing for a vacation, you

should take half as many clothes as you

think you will need and twice as much

money. Your clothes and money should

run out about the same time!

I've learned . . . .

that stain resistant carpet will stain.

I've learned . . . .

that it is best to give advice in only

two circumstances; when it is requested

and when it is a life-threatening

situation.

I've learned . . . .

that a good friend is the one who tells

you how you really look in your jeans.

I've learned . . . .

that the less time I have to work with,

the more things I get done.

I've learned . . . .

that we should be glad God doesn't

give us everything we ask for.

Acceptance-------- "I find that when we really love and accept and approve of ourselves exactly as we are, then everything in life works." -------- Louise Hay.

Full

You calm the trouble waters

 of my weary soul

You've held my hand

And gave me strength

When surely I thought

All reality had left me

You've prayed with me

You've cried with me

And became my friend

Surely God must be

Smiling in Heaven

For my Heart is

Full again........

Daddy's Baby

Sometimes it takes the love of a child to make a change in a persons life ---- and in this case the proof is in his arms.........

Quote by Audry Hepburn

Fall in love or fall in hate.
 Get inspired or be depressed.
Ace a test or flunk a class.
 Make babies or make art.
Speak the truth or lie and cheat..
Dance on tables or sit in the corner.
Life is Divine chaos.  Embrace it.
 Forgive yourself.. Breathe...
 And enjoy the ride........

A MOMENT OF SOMETHING WONDER
IS BETTER THAN A LIFETIME OF NOTHING SPECIAL....

5 Rules of a Happy Life

1.  Free Your Heart from Hate

 2.  Free Your Mind from Worry

 3.  Live Simply

 4.  Give More

 5.  Expect Less

After math of You.....

The war rages on
Bombs explode all around
 Limbs intertwine
 fingers grasp reality
 Tears spill over
 Ashes all around
 Rubble fills this place
The after math of your presence
 Heartbreak
 Empty nothing-ness
 Cold Cold Space.......

May God grant you always ........ A sunbeam to warm you......

Disappointment

Disappointment
Gloom Days
Hand in Hand
Water Drenched Land
 Tear stained cheeks
 Emptiness
 Overflow
 Hollowed out street
 Rain water has washed away
 Dirt and Debris...
 If only
 Tears could was away the
 Disappointment that fills me.

My daughter, Haley decided that writing on our walls was a great way to decorate before she went off to college.... So I took pictures before I paint so she will have a memory.... played with the colors (one above and one below) I am so proud of my Haley Bug --she is now 20 and on her own -- out of the house - working and going to school... and I miss her .

this is the other version....... without color change.....

OK so I have finished one of the many books I am reading...... I will just say if you have not read this book or the first one (The DA Vinci Code) it is a must read....... The movies are good also but nothing compares to the books..... It will keep you on the edge of the seat talking out loud -- trying to figure out the plot and to top it off some of the stuff in this book can actually be proved..... yes there is truth that lies with in the fiction ..... If you read my blog (Laus Deos) it coincides with this book .... There you have it --- I am off to the other 4 or 5 I am reading now......

In the great scheme of things __ I believe that Blessings should be for everyone who goes to our Heavenly Father in prayer __ I think that in the end we shall all discover that we all serve the same God no matter what name you choose to call him__ Our Heavenly Father is a kind and forgiving person and we all have been given free will to choose how we serve him while here on EARTH.___ I have a question for you that someone ask me the other day: It confused and made sense all at the same time....... When you die, Are you going HOME to be with the Father?  Think about that for a moment....... If you are going HOME -- then you have already been there --- you must have you are going HOME..... you are just on loan here learning how to make your way back there through what ever deed you choose ___ and the choice is yours --- Our Heavenly Father Gave us Free Will......... Made me think about a lot of things .... Does it you?

Your Day

My best friend gone but not forgotten........

As your Birthday draws near --- my mind drifts to you and all that might have been had you not been tragically taken from us......     Happy Birthday Johnny

We carried out your wishes --- just as you would have wanted and I kept my part of the promise...... I think you would be pleased.......

   Dirty Blonde

When I die
Burn m y body
Take my ashes
Over the mountains
And the seas
to the places
I have lived
Sprinkle some among
The people I use to know
Who I love
 _And sorrows leaving Only
All the love my Heart has carried._
 And who loved me for
 there my soul shall rest
At last - let some linger
In the breeze blowing
 them distant places
 Where my shadow will
Hide my Doubts........

 Courtney Love

You are missed more than any words could ever express......
